Asmer takes double pole at Brands

Marko Asmer was fastest in today's second qualifying, meaning that the Hitech Racing driver will start from pole position in both of tomorrow's races at Brands Hatch in the British F3 Series. He was almost half a second quicker than second fastest Sebastian Hohenthal with a best of 1:18.097s.

The session took place in dry and sunny conditions at the Kent track. Carlin's Sam Bird will line up on the second row alongside Raikkonen Robertson's Atte Mustonen. Just behind was team-mate Jonathan Kennard, who will be starting from fifth in both races. Rodolfo Gonzalez also secured the same position from first qualifying - sixth - in his T-Sport.

Stephen Jelley and Maro Engel from rival teams Raikkonen Robertson and Carlin will start from the fourth row respectively. Carlin's Niall Breen and Ultimate's Michael Devaney make up the top ten. Greg Mansell ended up 12th, after qualifying 11th in first qualifying. Tomorrow's Race 2 will start at 16:00 GMT.
