Asmer Flies at Croft Test

07 September 2007

Championship leader Marko Asmer threw down the gauntlet to his championship rival, Maro Engel, by setting the fastest time in both 50-minute test session ahead of Rounds 19 and 20 of the 2007 Lloyds TSB Insurance British F3 International Series.

Ireland's Niall Breen  was second fastest, just 0.002 seconds ahead of teammate Maro Engel. Engel is the only driver with a mathematical chance of beating Asmer to the British F3 title.

In the National Class Cheng Cong Fu set the fastest lap of the day with a 1m15.873 lap in the second session, 0.2 seconds ahead of championship leader Sergio Perez.

Qualifying for Round 19 will take place tomorrow (Satuday 8th September) at 11:40, with qualifying for Round 20 at 14:30.

Rounds 19 and 20 of the 2007 Lloyds TSB Insurance British F3 International Series will take place on Sunday 9th September at 12:50 and 16:05.
