Marko Asmer continued his grip on the Croft weekend with another dominant display of racecraft to take his second pole of the day ahead of Jonathan Kennard and Niall Breen. Sergio Perez turned the tables on 'Frankie' Cheng to claim the National Class pole.

The early pace was set by the three leading Double R entries with Stephen Jelley ahead of Atte Mustonen and Jonathan Kennard. A frantic few minutes ensued as Jelley improved and then was bettered by Mustonen who were then both bested by Sam Bird. However Marko Asmer was biding his time and posted the first sub 1 minute 14 second lap of the session to move into provisional pole position. Maro Engel then went third fastest but was stil 0.8 seconds adrift of the rapid Estonian.

As the minutes ticked by Asmer continued to improve, shaving off three tenths on the next lap and then another 8 hundreths as the session approached the half way stage.

The Carlin trio of Engel, Breen and Bird responded but they couldn't match the speed of Asmer. Jonathan Kennard banged in two 1 minute 13 second laps to secure second place and Niall Breen dug deep to head up the second row of the grid, just ahead of round 18 winner Atte Mustonen.

Sergio Perez and 'Frankie' Cheng joined the fray mid session adn it was Perez who set the class pace, with the Chinese driver unable to respond to his championship rivals pace.
