Perez joins T-Sport

2007 National Class Champion Sergio Perez will challenge for the overall British F3 title with T-Sport and, like the young Mexican, Salman Al Khalifa has also been confirmed at the Brackley based team for a second season in the National Class. T-Sport will also run a second National Class entry for Columbian Steven Guerrero, who raced in the 2007 Formula BMW USA Championship.

Sergio took the national class by storm last year, taking 14 dominant victories, which included a six-race winning streak, and notching up an equal number of pole positions. He secured the title with his result in race one at Croft, then went on to win the final three races of the year. Stepping up to the championship class for 2008 makes perfect sense for the young Telmex-backed Mexican as it is time to prove he can go all the way.

Salman joined T-Sport mid-way through the 2007 season and immediately began to make steady progress, culminating in two national class second place finishes at the final meeting of the year. The 2005 Formula BMW Asia Champion is out to continue building his experience in 2008 and looking to take his first national class victory.

Steven has crossed the Atlantic to race in the British F3 International Series after finishing fifth in the 2007 Formula BMW USA Championship. The 18-year-old Colombian only entered his first go-kart race in 2004 so he is on a very steep learning curve but relishing all the challenges that come his way.

"It's gratifying for us to keep two of our drivers from 2007 as it shows we are doing something right!" said T-Sport Team Principal, Russell Eacott. "Sergio has a big year ahead of him; it would be good to see him winning races and running at the front of the Championship. Salman needs to be winning too and challenging for the national class title. Steven has a lot to learn, especially in terms of the UK circuits, as he is coming over from the States. I expect to see him improve considerably as we go through the season."

The T-Sport trio will be on track at Pembrey in mid-February when the 2008 test programme kicks off. Race one is at Oulton Park during the Easter weekend on March.
