Walter Grubmüller has finished fastest after the two-day Oulton Park test. The Austrian finished at the top of the standings for Hitech, just over half a tenth of a second ahead of Nick Tandy's Mygale entry.
In dry conditions, Grubmüller lapped the Cheshire circuit in 1.27.753 as Tandy was delighted to finish just off the pace in a car straight out of the box, despite an off during the session. Fastest at Snetterton two weeks ago, Fortec's Riki Christodoulou rounded out the top three. The leading Volkswagen car finished in fourth spot, courtesy of Daniel Ricciardo for Carlin Motorsport.
Monaco's Stephane Richelmi did not run on Wednesday following a heavy accident the day before in which the car was too damaged to fully repair this week. There were also separate incidents involving Spain's Victor Garcia and Russia's Max Snegirev during the session. Max Chilton, younger brother of BTCC racer Tom, finished in sixth position for Carlin.
With the championship starting at Oulton on April 13, the next test session takes place at Rockingham next week.
