Championship leader Daniel Ricciardo continued to lead the way in the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series on Friday, outpacing all his rivals in both free practice sessions around Silverstone's full Grand Prix circuit.
Ricciardo's Dallara-Volkswagen headed the timesheets by a four-tenth margin, with the Australian's Carlin Motorsport team-mate Max Chilton running him closest. Quickest of the Mercedes-powered runners was Colombian Carlos Huertas, third overall in his Raikkonen Robertson-prepared machine.

| Van der Zande |
New to the British F3 grid at Silverstone this weekend is 23-year-old Dutch driver Renger van der Zande, who lines up alongside Austria's Walter Grubmüller in the Hitech Racing team. His considerable Formula 3 experience - van der Zande was a racewinner in the Euroseries in 2007 and '08 - helped carry him to fourth best time today on what was his first experience not only of the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit and his new car but also of Cooper tyres.
"It's all new to me," said Renger, "but I have been very impressed with the team and their professionalism. They have helped me a lot and I am hoping to repay them with a good result in the races on Sunday."
Leading British runner today was Riki Christodoulou, whose Fortec-Dallara was fifth quickest.

| Gabriel Dias |
A severe bout of food poisoning prevented Dan McKenzie from testing at Silverstone last month. Though now fully recovered the Fortec driver had to settle for second best in the National Class today, with Brazilian Gabriel Dias (T-Sport) outpacing him by two-tenths.
Official qualifying for rounds three and four of the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series takes place tomorrow (Saturday), with racing scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
