15 May 2009 / Results

Joe Tandy Racing (JTR) is to continue its motorsport projects in British Formula Three and Formula Ford after the tragic news of the team founder's death following traffic car accident on Wednesday. The twenty-six year-old, 2005 Formula Palmer Audi Champion and this year advising brother Nick's career, was a popular figure in racing circles.

Wednesday's road incident in Bromham, Bedfordshire, is currently under investigation after a collision between a box van and the BMW of Tandy and a friend. "Joe's loss is an immense blow for the team and, it goes without saying, for his family and many friends," said a spokesman for JTR.

"All we wish to communicate at this stage is our sense of loss, and our absolute determination to move forward with both the JTR Formula 3 and Formula Ford teams, exactly as Joe would have wanted."

The next BF3 meeting will take place at Rockingham on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 May, without the presence of one its most approved figures.
