Daniel Ricciardo was on top of the world after claiming pole position at Spa on Thursday. The Australian, current championship leader and looking to emulate now-F1 driver Jaime Alguersuari as British F3 Champion, will start in the best position to defend his twelve-point lead on Friday.
With Ricciardo on pole and second-placed man in the championship Walter Grubmüller back on the third row of the grid for the Hitech team, Thursday was a successful day for the championship leader.
"That was great - such fun!" Carlin Motorsport's Ricciardo beamed. "An F3 car is fantastic around this circuit; there is so much grip - you just feel you can go quicker and quicker all the time!"
