France's Adrien Tambay had been scheduled to take part in the British Formula 3 rounds at Spa-Francorchamps with the ART Grand Prix team this weekend but is keeping only a watching brief after suffering a bizarre accident in the paddock at the circuit.
The son of ex Formula One driver Patrick was due to be competing with team-mates Jules Bianchi, Valtteri Bottas and Esteban Gutierrez; Tambay did not compete on Friday and will remain a spectator, however, after being injured in an unusual accident in the paddock area at the circuit.
A keen footballer, Tambay is believed to have fallen and inflicted head injuries whilst playing at the track. As a consequence, the 18-year-old has been checked over in hospital and worries now surround his presence at the Euro Series races at Germany's Oschersleben circuit next weekend.
