With a performance befitting a newly crowned champion, Daniel Ricciardo scored a qualifying double-top at Brands Hatch today, following up his Cooper Tires British F3 round 19 pole position with another timesheet-topping performance in qualifying for round 20.
Carlin Motorsport man Ricciardo went even quicker in session two than he did in the morning, shaving five-hundredths of a second to claim his sixth pole position of the season. Once again it was Ricciardo's Carlin team-mate Max Chilton who was second fastest, Max beaten to the pole by just 0.045s this time.
"It was a quicker time than this morning," said Daniel, "but still not as quick as I'd hoped. But me and Max have a good gap to the rest, so that's encouraging. My aim tomorrow is to end the season with two race wins... we'll be giving it a good go and we'll see what happens...
Fortec's Riki Christodoulou was once again third fastest and Marcus Ericsson fourth-best for Raikkonen Robertson. In the National Class, Gabriel Dias (T-Sport) again shaded new class champion Daniel McKenzie (Fortec).
