The name of Renger van der Zande has been pencilled in as a nominee for a well-recognised Autosport award. The Dutchman, who finished in the top three of this year's championship, has been placed in the National Driver of the Year category for his performances for Hitech.
Having impressed this year, van der Zande's strong form saw the 23-year-old end the championship only ten points off Walter Grubmüller's runner-up spot. Renger will be up for the award along with stars from the F3 Euroseries and the British Touring Car Championship.
"It is a real honour to be nominated for an Autosport Award," a delighted van der Zande commented. "I enjoyed my time in British F3 and it's nice to see that people were impressed with what I did in the short time I was in the series. The National Driver is a very tough class but like all drivers, all the time, I hope I can win it."
Renger, along with the other numerous contenders, will learn of the verdict in the glamorous London ceremony on Sunday 6 December.
